Sailing Course / Module 8

Introduction to Monohull Sailing Drills

OBJECTIVE

To provide you with a theoretical understanding of how to operate a monohull sailing vessel in a safe and efficient manner, without endangering yourself, the vessel, or your fellow crew members, by following clearly laid out steps for each action on each vessel. The concepts of bending on sails and doing manoeuvres are very similar between all sailing vessels.

The sailing module for drills regarding M.A.T. 1010 monohull sailing vessels is broken down into 9 drills, in 3 sections.

The 9 monohull drills are divided into:

  • Mainsail Drills
  • Jib Drills
  • Manoeuvres
